I've got this whole beautiful world inside my computer, but I'm not using it. Not by far as much as I'd like to/as I think I'd like to. I think about this game a whole lot more than I actually play it, but somehow it's still as if the fascination is larger when I'm not playing. Reading the forums for example, or just thinking about it, I always go "wow, this is a great game! I want to play more!" ... Still I don't. I think I haven't really got into the playing style of this game yet, that's the initial thing. Also, I'm currently on world 4 and it feels like I'd need to restart the world in order to do well on it. However, the thought of restarting feels bad, like it goes against the whole idea of the game. After all, who wants to remove a chunk of your creature's memory and experience? It just feels wrong. Then again, it's not as if it's had time to learn anything useful in world 4, so going back to world 3 and preparing a little more might not be all that wrong.

Also feel like restarting from world 1 and being even more careful in exploring everything, and training my creature even more. But then the creature problem comes back: I'd like to keep my creature the same, not sure I'd like to start over with a different one. Or perhaps it'd be cool anyway ...

Picked up Black & White again today, nice to get back to it! My ape even did a few new things! First, he was "playful" with a rock, stepping on it thereby splitting it in two. Second, he picked up a rock and threw it. Hehe, I've sure wanted to see that for a long time! Used the leash of aggression to make him hit a bunch of trolls with fireballs and lightning bolts, that's when the stone throwing came in as well. Still, guess there might be a nicer way to deal with those trolls, since they turned into humans upon death, along with a comment from the good advisor ... And a bigger, badder (kicks my poor ape's ass every time! completely unlike the measly Sleg!) troll complains about sheep disturbing his sleep. Took away all sheep I could find, but he keeps complaining. So, either I've missed some, or he's just a bit buggy. He finds nothing to throw rocks at anymore at least ...

Word was out a few days ago that a, much awaited, patch was going to be released yesterday. It wasn't, the reason stated was that key staff was attending E3. Further info would be posted later. Now I can't get into the posts on the forums (and both the forums and the page loads really slow), but it seems to be improving. Anyway, someone seemed to think the reason given for the delay was silly, making comparisons to not being able to do simple things because the boss was out. Well, if the boss is the lead programmer (and often getting the "worst programmer of the week"-award), the company is only 25 or so people, and the boss plus some more people of those 25 are elsewhere, then I have no problem finding that a perfectly valid excuse. Plus, everyone's yelling about a missed release date that hasn't even been officially announced by Lionhead themselves ... Sure, Peter appearantly mentioned the date in an interview from E3, but that's not the same really (especially since it was Peter's word ... :-).

I just want to get into the boards again and see what those new posts are really about ...
