Web Browsers
Internet Explorer
Opera

Once upon a time, we got our first PC at home. With it came our first modem and our first connection to the internet. And with that involvment and selection between different browsers started. Our internet connection package came with Internet Explorer 2.0, a program that fit just fine onto a single floppy disk. Sigh ... Oh, and people weren't much using Explorer either, since there was Netscape and it wasn't only first but also much better, supporting extra stuff IE had no idea about (not that all of them were good, <blink> anyone?). I think I was a bit ambivalent during the version 3 period of NN and IE, possibly leaning toward IE. Anyway, once I got IE 4 that was what I used all the time, dangers of MS or not. IE is faster to start, and from 4 and on it did more advanced stuff as well.

Not all hope was lost though. Finally, I saw the light from Norway and switched to Opera when it became free and also turned out to do a good job with the majority of sites out there. Had kept the shareware version around before that as well, but mostly for compatibility checking since it wasn't as good in displaying things then.
