At the top of the food chain there's the stationary PC. It's powerful, fast and does everything you could ask of a computer, but it does require some effort (and usually a car as well) to move around and won't be pushed into working while on the move either. My wishes for more moveable computing solutions has come mostly form a wish to be able to take down notes straight into electronic form whitout needing to be in front of a desktop PC. Ever since that wish sprung up a laptop has seemed like a wonderful thing to have. Too bad, it's also always seemed like a way too expensive thing to purchase ...

But of course, a laptop can't match the size and startup speed of the devices I've got since then either. And raw power and huge screens can't always compete with pure slickness and being so small it can be lost in a large pocket ...

Still, it may well be my next step, some day when I find myself with the money I'll probably get one just to complete the chain that begins on my desk and ends in my pocket ...
