Completed the Martian campaign of The War of The Worlds yesterday. A bit short, as I've said before, but very nice while it lasted. The credits screens don't have music playing, they have radio broadcasts taking place several years after the campaign has ended. They're cool :-) ...
I've made two brave attempts to borrow the book version from the library in the two past days. On Wednesday, it was closed altogether. Yesterday, it was open, but that's where the fun ended. First, all the search-computers broke down, so I couldn't look the book up. I wandered around, looking for it in the Sci-fi section, but couldn't find it. Then they got some of the computers running again, so I queued for a while to get to use one. Finally, it turned out there were two copies of the book. The one in the Sci-fi section was borrowed, but the other one was supposed to be available. Only thing was it wasn't. Not even a page or a line. Two days of hard work, for nothing ;-) ... If I can't get it any other way, I've got it as a text file but as we all know, reading off a screen isn't very comfortable in the long run. And I don't think our printers would be too happy about printing a whole novel. Neither would the person paying the next ink cartridge ...
