Ten days ... Again! It feels like my updating pace is creeping down, not good. So, what's my excuse for not giving this site a much-needed update every now and then? Well, I can always blame forced reading. I have to get Stephen Donaldson's Gap Cycle back to the library tomorrow, and a few days ago I still had quite a lot of it to finish. Those books felt quite long at times, the three middle books (the series count five books) could have been shortened as far as I'm concerned. The first and last one was better, and the last one was by far the best. In all, the characters walked around on the brink of exhaustion and were, or remembered being, abused a little too much for my taste. How the heck could they take it, why didn't they give up much earlier? And how come they could always come up with believable lies all the time when they were pressed for it? And why couldn't they just have a snack and a good night's sleep every now and then? In all, these things ruined a bit of the feeling and interest for me.
