Back home again for what I plan to be a very relaxed extended weekend. It's strange how jeans just don't feel as comfortable after you've had softer pants for a week ... On the other hand, at home I don't have to walk around in shoes all day, nor use a computer which takes inexplicable amounts of time to boot and load programs. Once they're up and running however, everything runs along smoothly. Strange for sure ...
A good sign is that the days are starting to move along quicker, except between 8:30 and 9:00. That half hour, for some reason, lasts for about two hours ... Another sharp thing in the shoe not yet removed is the noise level in the evenings. Every night, the ping-pong world championship takes place in the ping-pong room, accompanied by plenty of shouting. It gets a bit ... annoying at times ... At least playing ballgames in the corridors has now been prohibited.
I've managed, with little effort one might add, to become class responsible for the computer room. Also, I've managed to get one of the elusive keys to that room (there are, so far, only three of these keys, but five classes who want one). As a result, a rule has now been made that each class takes precedence over the other classes at three computers. My class had a lot of representation in the computer room, so to speak ... Also, not surprisingly, work is prioritized before games (normally networked Quake 2). Now there's a rule which won't get used much, so far I've seen only about three people do any kind of work in that room ...
