My parents seem to be profoundly annoyed by the fact that I'd be perfectly happy spending my summer holiday without working. They even brought up the old drivers-license argument (my father has all the papers somewhere on his desk, so I keep telling him to just send them in) ... Then they got into other nasty future-prospects about me having to pay for myself if I am to live at home much longer. That was a hard blow to my idea about getting through my education without taking any loans ...
Perhaps is't got a bit to do with the fact that I've never had a summer job but, hey, what are holidays for anyway? I don't feel like taking some boring gutter-cleaning job just to make them feel good, unless pay is very high of course. Wonder if this has something to do with different generations, I don't think any of my parent's friends would have said "I won't even get up for anything below 70 kr an hour" on the subject of summer jobs ...
