I like rain. Right now, there's a lot of it about outside, ofr the first time in a few weeks. There just isn't anything like the sound of raindrops falling on the roof, to me it's a very comforting sound. Makes you want to sit down in a comfortable chair, cover yourself with a blanket and read a good book. Rain also brings out those nice smells of wet earth and somehow improves the colour scale of the world. It makes things more alive, not only the plantlife. Not to mention that it makes asphalt look sooo good when lit by streetlights ... Lightning really is optional, and not the thing for all types of rain.
Stupid magpies think they can do what they want in our garden. A month or so back they even took a steak from our grill when we looked away. We'll have to start acting against them like we have against cats, nowadays the cats leave as soon as they spot a human being in our garden. I still like the idea of setting up like small Tesla coils connected to motion-tracking cameras. that would be something to include in a movie or so; a defensive system against unwelcome animals. I wonder what you'll have to do to get a good aim at a magpie? I wonder what kind of poison would be effective ;-) ...
Sometimes I just hate the internet. You go online to try and upload a few files in all decency, and then your progress is halted by a concrete wall on the highway. Tried to ping www.swipnet.se, the net of my ISP. Sorry, timed out! And then you disconnect and reconnect and Presto! Everything flows nicely ... Hey, Houston! seems you have some kind of bandwidth problem! Sigh ... I think "reliable" is just the word I wouldn't dream of using to describe the situation. Easing the pain a bit by downloading the new Intergalactic remix. Unless everything stops again, of course ...
"Ain't technology great?"
You bet it is!
