One week, seven days, before the Big Day. The end of twelve years of school. Now, only three or more years of studies will be required to get some decent job ... The lessons are dropping out of the schedules, leaving big holes turning into late mornings and short afternoons. Also, there is nothing in the way of schoolwork to prepare for or worry about in any way after whatever summer holiday we have. For some of us, it will be two weeks of freedom followed by a year of what Andreas described as "not having to think for a year": the military service. Sooo sad I won't get to do it ... Being a student should be like this all the time, was the conclusion we, my class, reached today. We agreed we don't really want to leave school, as long as it is free from studies. Freezing time right now wouldn't be all that bad ...
Toy of the week: UnrealEd, the level editor of, have a guess, Unreal. Often very easy to use, yert sometimes bloody hard to get to do things the way you want. Spent at least an hour trying to get a small wheel to rotate the way I wanted it, that's what happens when you get stuck on something. UnrealEd has its little ideas sometimes like "Yeah, let's fill that cave with water again even though there has been no change to anything there since it worked as it should." Sigh ... Perhaps it's best to add water the last thing you do on a level, but that would sure make testing a bit more difficult. Well, I'll live through it, and water looks so damned great in Unreal ... Perhaps I'll even download the new seven megabyte patch they've put up, that should fix the problems with the bots always being far too skilled for me. But why cant they make the flipping thing smaller? It's like that patch I downloaded for Populous. 9,21 megabytes, because it contained versions for each language the game is available in. Didn't make any notable difference either, mumble ...
