Another non-full-length-week has passed. If it isn't normal to have Fridays off, then it's normal to work on Fridays. So far we've only had one "normal" Friday during the whole civil service. The grand total of "normal" Fridays will be at most 3 of 9 possible. Normal isn't always as normal as you think, not that I'm complaining or anything :-) ...

We went to see the guy in charge of war-time preparedness for Örebro. Comparing him to one of our main teachers over at Almnäs feels like comparing a realist to an optimist. The thing is, this person knows exactly what we'll be used for. And that's taking care of people, preparing shelters and handing out gas masks, nothing else. The rest, the majority, of our education can be considered some kind of bonus. Well, everything which you find interesting can. All those damn projects we get all the time can't, and everyone keeps complaining about the teacher giving us those ... There went the last motivation for doing a good job on them ...

Got my first pay for the civil service yesterday too, so I naturally had to spend some of it on games today. Luckily, budget/used games seriously limits the financial damage done. So, I bought Wing Commander: Prophecy, carried it home, installed, started it, spent an hour or so trying to get the movies to run at the right speed, and started playing. I'll probably give it a page of its own later, I haven't played it enough yet. All I can say is: I need some practise. When you play on average difficulty and can't beat the second mission, you've been away for too long ...
