7/7
The two days since coming home have been nice and relaxed. Thursday was a long bathing excursion, bestowing upon me a lot more red skin than I was even close to getting during my three weeks of subtropical climate. In the evening some time was found for installation of new hardware and peripherals, which of course meant cutting myself on some sharp corner of the computer case. It's something of a tradition now, but usually I don't notice until I look down and see my hand is all bloodstained. This time, it actually hurt a bit. And that was a good thing, because if I hadn't noticed right away I would have bled all over the internals of the computer before noticing ... For some reason Bonnie called me things like careless when I told her about it ... In all, the harddrive actually caused less problems than the mouse, but that was, as usual, mainly my own fault (following instructions can be a good thing! :-). Now I just need creative names for two more partitions ... Yesterday was birthday of course, which is never wrong. Cake (ultra-classic strawberry and whipped cream version!), presents (including a really cute straw pig!) and grandparents (dad's side) in a nice combination. The external of the day might deserve some explanation (especially since I find the reason for it amusing, and I'm the one in charge here :-). Yesterday, a Toblerone happened to be one of my birthday presents. Yesterday, it also happened to be just as warm as it's appearantly been for a while around here. Yesterday, my Toblerone laid around all day on my desk. Then, sometime in the evening, I suddenly felt like taking a piece. To this end, I opened the package and tried to pull out the foil covered chocolate itself. Only this time it seemed the foil was empty, judging from the way it just foiled when I tried to get a grip on it. It was about here that I realized that maybe it had been a little too warm for chocolate in my room, went downstairs and gave the poor thing a good night in the fridge. It sure is good that the foil was completely tight ... Hmmm, maybe I should be nice and give ScanDisc a chance to run without being interrupted by disk access all the time ... | |||||
