Ever been put in a good mood by a duck (a real, wild one that is, not the cartoon version ...)? I saw one in Svartån today which really made me grin. It was swimming in the icy, cold water, against both the stream and the wind. I could vividly imagine it muttering in a low, squeaky (you know, like a certain other duck) voice about the situation in general and the weather in particular. You've at least got to admire its single-mindedness, swimming in the single most demanding direction just to get to another very similar part of river. A few other ducks standing in a group on the ice gave some ideas too ... The whole thing made me wish I had brought a camera so I could make a little cartoon of it. If you miss things like that your days get a whole lot greyer, so pay attention!
Didn't get Mayday while in the city though, so don't expect a report on it anytime soon ... Decided to get through Wing Commander 2 or something first before I spend more money on games. After all, I can't buy one game a week without any reliable income for very long ... Still, Mayday is about as cheap as games get ... Instead of spending money I made use of the library. Against all odds they had a book on C++ in, always nice to get more views on the subject. Still haven't done any real programming though :-) ...
Whew, I hate 60 Hz in 1027 by 768! See last diary entry for explanation ...
