8/7

Now it feels like I haven't updated in a long time again, and still it's only been two days ... The rest of the family just left the building, the computer's made a quick transition downstairs and I'm waiting for most of the rest of Snarl-up Software to arrive for a nice extended barbeque-and-computer-evening.

Birthday was a nice day as usual. Incidentally, I've now got all the records I thought I should get back on 5/6. Not much time spent listening in the past two days though, so further reports will have to wait ... Friday was a relatively tough day. Not only was there some problem with the order system so that we had some extra work fixing that, there were also more orders in one day than we've had since May ... Thought I'd missed some big celebration day in the calendar or something, I was very happy Katarina was around to help me for a few hours, otherwise yesterday could easily have turned out to become one of those twelve hour days without lunch ... I eat too much candy ...

Got a CD burner too. Burning turns out to be another one of those activities that are so easy I almost become suspicious. Only problem was some early slave-master confusion, the units need to know who's in charge ... When Gustav bought the secondary CD player last year it was used, and the owner had already configured it as slave, the same situation it was working in inside our computer. But the burner was set to slave too, and suddenly the computer found no CD units at all. We could use a larger tower, would look pretty with three CD units in one computer ... Would really cover all possible needs then, with one burner, one DVD unit and one "vanilla" CD-ROM player ...
