Directly from the Palm ...

In town, waiting. For the bus ... Silly bike gears' condition worsened on the way to Parkhallen, began clicking and slipping all the time. Made it impossible to get any kind of speed, so I've handed it over for expert treatment now. Wil see the result on Monday afternoon, stuck with buses and/or borrowing parents' old bikes until then, mumble ...

(15:55) Got to work only fifteen minutes late after all. Felt strangely ineffective all the time though, like I was getting nothing done. Guess the combination of fairly large orders, trouble with the barcode reader and lack of lunch (way too late morning ... :-) had something to do with it ...

Buses are a nice way of spending those tons of change, like a miracle diet for your wallet :-) ...

Began reading Bruce Sterling's Hacker Crackdown yesterday - on-screen and in plain ASCII format. Having a scroll wheel is extremely convenient in this situation, line-by-line scrolling is so slow, and using page down is too disorienting. Eye strain is a bit of an issue of course, but not all that much. Anyway, it's a nice book for all us with a bit of interest in cyberspace, hacking and related subjects.

"What's that he's playing?" she asked her friend.
"Isn't it, like, four in a row?" the friend replied.
Pause.
"Perhaps, like, five in a row."
Pause.
"A million in a row ..."
People don't recognize an honest game of Othello anymore? What's the world coming to? Thought about telling them for a while, but hoped they'd continue their discussion ...

Neck strain, time to take a break and admire the view or something. Going to step off soon anyway, been writing all the way, cool ...
