24/6
Midsummer meant a three-day weekend, so the last two mornings have been wonderfully late. Sleep is such a nice activity ... Don't really feel like I've got anything special to report, but I need an excuse for surfing a bit :-) ...
Was over at Kristofer's and had a look at his new computer. Meant a chance to see Homeworld run in 1024*768 and 32 bit colour, and it looked really good ... Makes you want to go out and blow your money on a new graphics card right away. Actually having money to blow too almost makes things feel worse, since it means an actual risk of blowing them ... Got my first paycheck on Thursday by the way. Felt good, but not fully as good when I realized taxes took 33% of it :-) ... Wonderful to live in a high-tax country, right?
Damn space bar seems to be in a bit of a bad mood again. I wonder what it is that gets worn out when a key starts missing presses like that? Must be some kind of sensor that gets old and tired ... Will have to go over to Palm-based writing (or play around with the inner works of the keyboard again) ...
Saw an article in a paper about a personal site (http://www.badanka.net, in Swedish) a week or so ago. Surfed there, had a look around and ended up looking through the list of other diary sites the author read regularly. There were very short descriptions of each site, and they were all positive, of course, so there weren't a lot to set any one apart from the rest. Still, there was one I added to my favourites to look at later (a way of using favourites that haven't occured to me until very recently by the way). The cool thing was that the creator of the site at http://hem.passagen.se/mc68mc/ was the guy who ran the now closed software store in which I looked for a job around the end of last year. It's fascinating to read a diary written by someone you've actually met very briefly, makes you realize how much there is behind every single face you've ever seen in your life. The face turns into a much more real person ... Long live web diaries! Should read more of them, and link to more too ...
