24/9

It's been a long weekend, hour-wise. Joined with the rest of Snarl-up over at Robert's, taking the opportunity to utilize his wonderful internet connection ... As an interesting result of this, Bonnie is possibly the person I've communicated the most with in the last days ... Chatted with her before she went to school, and was still in front of the same computer when she came back :-) ... Hadn't it been for her I would have got a lot more sleep last night, and could possibly have had more of it on a softer spot than a blanket-covered floor :-) ... Sleeping in odd positions is part of the charm with these events ... Being really tired doesn't have much of charm though, it's more of a disease feeling. Strange, really, being in a two-room apartment with five other people for three days, doors, windows and blinders shut and still talk more to people outside that room than those inside. Oh, the wonders of technology :-) ...

Talked to Ellen for a while too. Reminds me of Bonnie's argument that friendships based on ICQ don't last too well, there's a lot of truth in that. Ellen and I even snail-mailed eachother a few times, then we didn't meet on ICQ for a long time and just slipped away ... Too bad, and happened way too easy. You know what you're talking about Bonnie, as usual.

Said wonders also made me do stuff I can't or don't let myself do on a modem connection. Like listening to realaudio radio shows and watching streaming Beastie Boys videos. Downloaded heaps of junk too, including three attempts at a 100 meg UT mod which gave up at 99% ... Gamespot seemed unwilling to let me have any sufficiently large file I attempted, just another thing that made me glad I wasn't on a modem ... Downloaded almost every demo Nvidia had on offer on their site too. I want that sea monster as screen saver! Gave a new kick of wow-feeling for the capabilities of my little graphics board.

Strange what a difference a few scattered hours of sleep can do. Last time I slept nothing at all before I got home, once home I fell asleep for the night around 17:00. Now I had a few hours of sleep the second night, and I'm still awake and fully capable of focusing my thoughts at 20:37. Still, I can assure you I'll sleep like a dead rock tonight anyhow ... After that it's time to be a good student and bury myself in studies for the next four days, hopefully :-) ...
