Back at work again, work up to my neck as usual. Monday should be a nice morning too, I've been told to show up at 06:00, which means getting up around 05:00 ... Thinking about ways to shorten my morning habits to easen the blow, I might be able to get down to fifteen minutes or so, especially if I skip making tea, or eat my sandwiches while I wait for it to cook. The downside is fifteen minutes leaves absolutely no margin for anything unexpected to interrupt, so it probably will as soon as I try it ... Or perhaps I could skip breakfast altogether since we get a good one at work at nine? But I don't think my blood sugar levels would like that, especially not if they'd have to keep up for three hours without support. No, I'm not really considering that an option. Speaking of that, it's a bit odd I can go the rest of the day at work without any food and still feeling awake. Today is just an example, haven't eaten anything since the nine break, and now it's soon 20:00 ... Probably bad for you in the long run but hey, we westerners don't move enough for our food consumption anyway ...
Accidentally dropped my Palm for the first time today, which just goes to show how good it was that I paid extra for additional insurance ... Very nice little thing that. Not too often you buy things and get instruction manuals larger than the actual object. To quote the great Dilbert: "I've already forgotten how I could live without this". I may not have gone quite that far yet, but hang on a few more hours and we'll see then ... It's so cool being able to write down notes and stuff wherever you are (and without having to manage heaps of paper thank you ;-). Any place gives more inspiration and ideas than in front of the computer, so it's nice to be able to be there and take those ideas down if they turn up. And now people can't tell me I should get a calender or anything anymore (I just don't use it at the moment :-). Wonder if I can get used to writing Graffitti with both hands?
Playing War of the Worlds again. It may seem a bit strange that an RTS this easy, without multiplayer or scenarios and full of bugs (that I have mercifully been spared from) can pull me back more often than heavyweights like Tiberian Sun or Myth II. I think the answer is that Wotw is more than a standard RTS and also puts the RTS bits in a longer perspective. A cost in time is a lot more natural than a direct cost in resources for a war game (few countries charge their generals for bringing in more troops ...). The high quality of the voice acting and music is also important of course, this game has a mood few can even compete with. I wonder if there will ever be an answer to all the questions of this game's problems. Seems quite many Wotw fans have asked GT and Rage for patches and stuff like that without getting answers (wonder how much the game has sold by the way). It's such a pity this game hasn't recieved more support and sold better, if you find it in some discount box you should definitely give it a go. That's worth saying again ...
Ah, food time! Be right back!
