Microsoft Tetris
The about box says it comes from Microsoft Entertainment Pack. I don't know where my copy is from, but I do know that we've never had the Entertainment Pack ... No matter, I have some kind of wierd liking for this incarnation of Tetris, and it's the version I've played the most. The one I tend to compare to and find something in the comparison that isn't favourable to the newcomer. Quick to start, responsive controls, down arrow drops and the graphics are completely unimpressive. I like the way it scales to what window size it's given, and I prefer to have it fullscreen so the blocks are huge and chunky and the background pattern repeats enough to give hallucinations :-) ...
Something grips me about this version. It doesn't try to be anything but just Tetris, doesn't even try to do anything but basic looks. But it's there and it works and the window resizes. More than enough for me :-) ... Current highest score is 25488, piece preview off of course.
