Notes by the Altar ...9/1 2001 23:10
It really feels like the Sacrifice campaign is full of "what-if":s, really hope it's like that and not just looks first time through. Definitely a lot of mission content to discover by replaying anyway, and things to discover through that. And there's got to be a good bit of difference toward the ends of the "campaigns". High interest in loading games and picking different paths right now! Am currently aligned with James. All incidentally, tried to balance between gods, but suddenly nobody else wanted anything to do with me ... Right now Charnel suddenly opened his portal again, but I'm not too sure I trust him (subject for later "alternate-path-test" for sure though) ... Oh, high-level spells and creatures, how I love thy!
12/1 2001 21:48(Pause to clean chocolate off of the enter key) Sacrifice is a serious story inside a funny dress. The combination works so well! Just because something looks funny and bizarre doesn't mean it can't have depth. And the music is in mp3 right inside the music directory, so now I can examine closer if I like it as much as the designer diary writer on Gamespy did. As for more of funny, all the gods' speaking animations are in the anims directory in smacker format, the happy ones are nice, but the angry ones on a whole are funnier :-) ... 11/2 2001 13:04This game makes me want to upgrade my computer to see just how good it can look. This fact that maximum texture resolution requires double amounts of both RAM and graphics memory compared to what I've got keeps nagging me :-) ... And it's still such a cool game to play every time, such great balancing and gameplay differences compared to other RTS games. Not to mention all those freaky creatures, just begging to be displayed in even greater detail ... Oh well ... 10/3 2001 11:41To put it bluntly: currently I pretty much suck at multiplayer Sacrifice. Doesn't feel bad though, just like I have a lot of things to learn. Have put together six points which I think pretty much sums the needed improvements up. No small points either ...
