Yucata'

Suddenly, in a random strike of inspiration, he creates a page about a board game! Yucata' is about collecting good (bright) stones, although they're really made of wood, while avoiding bad (blue) ones. Instead of dice, each player moves by playing cards. Each player has seven cards, one to five plus two special ones, and when all cards have been played you pick them up and start over. The two special cards are sword and question mark. Sword places you one spot ahead of the leader while question mark moves you the same way as the last player. You're not allowed to play the same card as the last player (unless you only have one card left). There is no way to move backwards. The path the players move on is spiral formed with 25 good, 9 bad and one special red stone. The red stone removes one bad stone from your total. All other blue stones you take remove good stones from your total, one for the first, two for the second and so on, and the player with the most good stones after all stones have been collected does of course win.

Now, on to the interesting point: as far as we can tell, the player that starts is in a much worse position than the others. In our two player games, the starting player never wins. He/she is always is one card ahead of the others, and thus has one option less than the others. And being first is not desirable at all when blue stones start getting in your way ... It seems strange that such a "bug" could pass through any kind of playtesting, but we can't seem to prove it wrong. We haven't played as many 3+ player games as two player ones though, but it seems natural that the disadvantage should persist there too. Anyone out there who has played this game and has thoughts on it? Tell me!
