Cornershop

Music with lots of Indian influences. Quite nice, and gives me a sort of warm summer-feeling even though most of last summer, when I bought it, rained away. Perhaps it's those Indian sounds and other curious beats doing it. I haven't heard the original version of Norwegian wood, but I imagine the Hindi (just guessing at language here) version on When I Was Born For The 7th Time is a bit different ...

Being different is in a way what WIWBFT7T is all about. There's a lot of variation in there, but it still fits together very nice and feels like one piece. Six of the songs are "normal" songs with lyrics in English, one is a poem with background music and the rest are either in Hindi or "instrumental". Odd but good, to cut it short. It takes a while to get into some of the songs, but it's time well spent. It's warm and slightly exotic music, and it makes you feel good. Enough writing, listen for yourself instead!

You know, it is possible to like a record even if you haven't got a clue about some of the lyrics ...
