  • Winner: Ogre (minor)
  • Final ogre status: 3 secondary, 8 AP

My very first game of Ogre saw Henrik attacking my position. It turned into the classic end scenario with the ogre slowly advancing on the CP with only a few tread points left and the defenders eating away at it frantically. I managed to stop him after he got the CP, and having a GEV and a howitzer left meant he couldn't do much more. This is the closest the defense has been to victory yet ...

  • Final ogre status: 5 AP, 41 treads

Taking place immediately after the first game, sides switched of course. Henrik went for my guns, stopping me from a major victory since I had nothing left to finish his lasts units with after I got the CP.

  • Date: See above
  • Winner: Ogres (major)
  • Final ogre status (mine): 4 secondary, 8 AP, 41 treads
  • Fianl ogre status (Gustav: 8 AP, 33 treads

When Gustav dropped by we decided to try the scenario with two ogres attacking a stronger defender to get some three-player action. Doesn't exactly seem to be an easier scenario for a defender on our experience level. Coupled with some very biased dice, ogre victory came pretty easy, even if one got hit pretty hard it just didn't seem to be enough defenders around to take care of both.

First major to the ogres, defenders still awaiting their first victory.

Return to the Ogre mainpage.

Another quick switch of sides, and another major ogre victory. See the pattern?

Petter's first game, playing the ogre, and the most decisive victory yet. You don't get damages much more minimal than these ... My offensive strategy wasn't too good either, Petter's was much more interesting in the next game.

This one was interesting. Petter played much more defensive and careful than we've ever done so far, and I really thought it would pay off a lot more. The first encounters were me using up both my missiles and catching up with an infantry unit too slow in retreating to within howitzer range. Maybe he pulled back a bit too far, that's the only reason I can see for things not working out better. I kept out of howitzer range for as long as possible, and he kept moving his units trying to lure me within. I ended up moving down one side, minimizing howitzer exposure as much as possible and chewing up other units at the usual pace.

With a few games experience, it still seems very distant that the defender should ever need to remove a unit or two to keep things balanced ...
