It's all over! My gymnasium time ended with all the usual celebrations yesterday. Early breakfast consisting of champagne, chocolate and strawberries is followed by taking of class photos outside the school. Then comes the handing out of your final marks and some ceremonies and singing in the assembly hall before the classes get to march out and meet their waiting families. After driving around the city in decorated vehicles, singing and shouting as seen fit, everyone goes home and has a reception at home until it's time for the student's dinner, featuring more singing, shouting and drinking as well as dancing and often more drinking. The day usually ends early next morning in the park, whith most people stumbling around seeing the world through a shroud of alcohol. For me, this was all topped off with a five kilometre walk home at 03:15 in the morning. I kind of liked it, the world was cool, calm and summery and I kept hearing R.E.M.'s Man on the Moon in my head. As I got up at 04:45, to make it to the breakfast at 06:00, and got into bed around 04:15, you'd imagine I ought to feel a bit more tired today. Still, I got up sometime past eleven o' clock, and I've also ran a few kilometres. Maybe I'm ill in some way ;-) ...

I still don't think I've fully realized that it's over yet though, haven't fully understood I might never see some of my classmates again. Hopefully there'll be some reunion some time, some of us thought sometime next week would be a good time ...

My immediate financial problems suddenly disappeared. Partly because of "donations" yesterday, but also because it turned out I have twice as much money on my account as I thought. The question is why, but I feel no urge to explore that issue in detail ...

My brother gave me the vinyl version of Welcome to the infant freebase, my first LP. It contains three songs not included on the CD and has all the benefits of being an LP. The sound feels richer, deeper, more alive, and an LP sure looks much cooler than a CD when you play it. Just the fact that the rotation speed is lower makes it feel better, and then there's the fact that it's not perfectly flat, so that it bobs a bit when it rotates. Gotta get more of these, how much is an LP player anyway?

And can it be connected to a computer?
