6/1From 01:40 handwritten note ...Will be woken up at seven or so in the morning, in order to get to Stockholm and the church where my latest cousin will be baptized at 11. Think there's a chance I might sleep in the car on the way there ... I'll become my cousin's godfather, strange feeling somehow. Feeling of being trusted with something, being made responsible for something, even if the responsibility is pretty much imaginary. Anyway, my parents reminded me yesterday (Thursday really) evening that I should buy some baptismal gift. That meant doing so today (yesterday :-), after finishing work on our analysis exercise. The thing was we weren't done until about a quarter to four, and I wasn't sure when the shops closed (Twelfth Night and all). Felt a little stressed when I got to the first shop only to realize they'd closed only minutes before. Shop closed, it was raining cold rain, it was dark and melting snow didn't make things any better either. In a worried state of mind, I headed to the next store. They were open to five, phew! Having found a decent present (didn't feel too creative though, but that's what happens when you buy what someone has suggested) things felt a lot less stressed. Passing by an electronics store, the Matrix DVD suddenly jumped at me from a stand, grabbed my throat and demanded to be bought. What could I do? It's all this with extra features and better picture/sound that sells DVD for me, compared to VHS which I've never bought other than as gifts.
Was nice to make a note on paper instead of the Palm, whole different feeling, and faster too of course ... Back home again now, full of good food, cookies and cake as usual :-) ... And getting to hold a four month old baby in church of course, that's the best bit of it ... Want to have a really late morning tomorrow, too many "early" ones recently and feel all sleepy after half-sleeping in the car on the way home with Kent in my ears. A very pure experience in all, music and traveling without moving through rainy winter darkness, but makes it feel like it could be in the middle of the night when it's really just 19:00. | ||
