The Matrix
The Matrix is a celebration of the power and freedom of the individual for sure, very contemporary that way I suppose. It is also a pretty damn good looking film, slow motion cuts and green characters on screens never looked so good before. Nice when a film gives an excuse for unrealistic but cool action sequences and also makes sure to take advantage of it. I can't help thinking a properly made action game giving the player that kind of power could kick major ass ... The Matrix also does have a big hook in it. I want to see it again already. This is one of those films you think there could easily been more of, even if it lasts more than two hours already. Don't mistake that for a wish for a sequel! Let The Matrix stand alone, and don't tell me what more happens before or after or anything! As it is now it ends perfectly, without telling you precisely everything and without going precisely everywhere, I'd hate if a bad sequel came along and ruined that. | ||||
