Special millennial edition extravaganza
Another year ends, and the most over-hyped event in the history passes by. It must be a sad day for doomsday prophets. A large, even number passes but neither doomsday, armageddon or the end of the world even bothers to show up. Neither did power failures, global disasters or massive computer failures. That guy who bought four months worth of canned tuna must sure feel like he did the right thing by now ...
As planned, we spent the evening celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of my father's parents. Heavy snowfall limited the impressiveness of the fireworks a bit, but, in a way, also made the drive home a lot better (not for the driver though). Driving through heavy snowfall, snow covered trees on both sides, headlights the only illumination, thousands of snowflakes dancing in the light and listening to TSOOL's Extended revelation was truly magical at times.
And now I sit here ... It's 03:16, I'm fully dressed up, not at all drunk but quite tired, and have just been told to go to bed. Outside it still snows, and the world is pretty quiet. Life seldom feels better than this ...
Carpe diem ...
