Extended revelationThoughts about the songs ...
RegenesisThe first song of the album has a stirring feeling to it, a feeling of things coming alive, moving in the darkness. It sets the mood for the album, a mood darker, calmer and more psychedelic than Welcome to the infant freebase. Safety operationThis one could be about looking for a soulmate, someone who will accept you the way you are. "If you get used to my behaviour. Maybe you could be my saviour." Sounds quite clear ... Love song # 3105A simple love song, who would have thought that? There aren't too few of these around, kind of makes you wonder if the number in the title has any calculations behind it ... Another of those songs I thought I didn't like too much until I realized I did. Jehova sunriseI always think about a summer night when I hear this song; golden sunlight and dark, warm shadows. The sun is setting, and when in comes up again all our problems will be gone. It is one of the songs on the album which feels kind of sacral. "Waiting for Jehova sunrise. I wanna travel in the speed of light." Longing for salvation, or perhaps just something to believe in. All for saleI think this song is about being let down. At first, they trust the person the song is about. Perhaps they see he or she as their saviour in some way, someone to help them. "Show me where grass is green. (...) you always knew which way to go." Then, he or she leaves them, "down by the oceanside. Down where the ocean waves goodbye.",and everything breaks down; "When you turn away. When we are all for sale." Then they are bitter, they feel let down and disappointed; "You're not the one to trust. And my expectations start to rust." Perhaps it is all about what might happen when you have too high expectations on someone ... | ||
