(17:38 - in transit ...) Sitting on a bus between Hallsberg and Mjölby. Intention was to catch a train for Lund in Mjölby, but don't think there's any looming risk we'll be there in time. Love when things go as planned ...
Started off well enough though. Got my ticket and on the right train (on second try though, scary :-) in Örebro. Train was a few minutes late (reason for the initial train confusion) and every seat was taken. No big deal I thought, people would get off in Hallsberg and leave plenty of seats. Then, it turned out I'd be getting off in Hallsberg too, which put me on this bus. Well, at least I got a seat ... And I'm not the one who'll have to work things out either, that's a plus too. On the other hand, I am the one who might get late, confused and annoyed, and that's a minus in my book ... No batteries for the CD player either, but perhaps these delays will mean time to get some. Would be better in a way if they didn't of course ...
(18:10 - train to Lund ...) Train waited, how nice of them ... And speakers on this station were the first to actually ba audiable. The ones in Örebro whispered, the ones in Hallsberg were hard to make out, especially in the rush to the bus, but these ones were quite acceptable. So, how about getting moving? Got a few minutes to take back ...
Wonder how long these batteries will last? Not too much left on the indicator, but at least no warnings yet. Didn't get time to invest in any more after all. Shouldn't there be radio available or something? It's three hours and a half to Lund. This could become a really long trip :-) ...
(19:00) Stopping in Nässjö. Apart from the occasional light passing by, there really isn't much indication the outside world exists at all. Transit between cities take place in dark nothingness, standing still while someone rythmically shakes the train and emits a steady rumbling. Distance and time stretches out into irrelevance. Space travelers at least have the stars to look at when they don't have batteries left :-) ...
